HAPPY VALENTINES DAY <3

Happy Valentine's Day to you all. Or Happy Singles Awareness Day, whichever you prefer. So funny story about my day... Due to the fact that I don't have a Valentine, I was supposed to babysit tonight to allow some friends to go out for the night. But, I didn't end up doing that because they all got sick last night. Soooo... I decided to settle in for a night by myself and just get some things done that I have been putting off... like laundry. And dishes. So I was doing the dishes and there was a knock at the door. I go to answer it and there are 2 good looking men standing there in suits with a rose and a stick of Laffy Taffy. They introduce themselves and tell me that they are my home teachers and give me the rose and the candy. I invited them in for a minute and we were just talking and getting to know each other, when one of them asks me to go to the stake Valentines dance. Let me just give you a visual.... I am in blue sweat pants, a gray UVU sweatshirt, minimal make-up, and my hair is up on top of my head in the messiest bun you've ever seen. He says he's leaving in ten minutes to go to the dance. Not happening!!!! Had I maybe had an hour to get ready and a day to shop for an outfit, I totally would have gone. But I didn't. It was a nice gesture though.

Gotta Love FHE

Last night for FHE we combined with another group to do somewhat of a service project. We made and decorated Valentine's cookines and then ding-dong-ditched people's apartments in our ward and left cookies on their doorstep. It was a pretty fun night - cookies, frosting, candy, love songs playing in the background - you know, the whole shebang. Here are a few of the pictures!

Computers are Retarded...

So I just got on my blog and for some strange reason, my last 3 posts have been deleted... no where to be found. But my computer has been acting up lately. I probably pushed a wrong button or something and it spazzed out. Who knows. But o well, it wasn't anything too important. I'll update later about my trip home, but right now it's time for bed!!

Christmas, New Years, and Cold Water...

Well I tried posting some pictures from my Christmas break, but my computer won't cooperate. I'll keep working on it and hopefully I'll get some up soon.

I was fortunate enough to go home very early - I flew home on December 15th. It was nice to be home and see everyone, even if it was only for a week. December 21st, we packed Christmas in the car and made the 17 hour drive to Boise, Idaho to spend Christmas at my grandpa's house. We go there for Christmas every other year and very much enjoy spending time with family and having a "White Christmas". This year was somewhat hard, being that my grandma was not there to celebrate with us. But we still tried to enjoy ourselves, nonetheless. On the 27th, we packed up once again and made another 8 hour drive to Medford, Oregon to see my brother Ryan, his wife Kelli, and my new niece, Kayden. We spent a few days there and we were able to get a visit to the grandparents in as well. Kayden is the cutest little girl!! We drove back home on the 30th and all went to bed!!

New Years Eve was spent a variety of places. We went to the Kershaw's for snacks and after a while, us kids left and went our separate ways. I stopped by my friend Kaleigh's house and was able to see a few people I haven't seen since graduation, which was nice. But by 10:00 I was feeling tired and by 11:00 I was in bed. Lame, I know. But really, what's the big deal? Another year, so what? We've had 2008 of them...

Unfortunately, the fun had to stop some time and I made it back to Utah this morning - barely. We left the house a little late and then the driver (I won't mention any names - some of you may know her. She goes by mom most of the time...) got on the freeway going to the wrong airport. We got there with less than ten minutes to spare. But I'm back. And surprise, surprise - our water heater is broken. I turned the water on to take a shower, but after running it for about ten minutes, it was still cold. So I called the management company... But they are closed for New Years. I guess one day without a shower won't kill me...

Merry Christmas!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!! I cannot believe that it is Christmas Eve already!! Where does the time go??

I hope all of you are enjoying this wonderful time of year and really letting the Christmas spirit come into your hearts. I am always amazed at how this time of year always makes me so aware and grateful for everything that I have. It especially brings an awareness to me of the love our Savior has for each one of us and helps me to remember and appreciate Him on a different level. I am grateful for the gospel in my life and for the knowledge and blessings it brings to me. I am grateful for the birth of Jesus Christ, who was born in a manger many years ago and for His perfect example. It is my hope and prayer that we can each take time to ponder on the life of Christ and remember that everything He did, He did for us. He knows and loves us individually and His tender mercies are upon each one of us. I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year!!

Winter Wonderland!

All day Friday it was rainy, cold, and miserable. We were all getting kind of annoyed that it was so cold but it wasn't snowing. THEN... Saturday morning we woke up to our very own Winter Wonderland. I couldn't believe how much snow there was from just a few hours! It snowed all day Saturday, and somehow, that made the cold ok. A Tribute to My Grandma

I wanted to write a little something in honor of my Grandma McMillan who passed away this morning at the age of 81.

She was an incredible woman and was loved by so many. She was a loving wife, the mother of 5 children, grandmother to 19 grandchildren, and great-grandmother to 19 great-grandchildren. She did many great things in her life and was admired and respected by many. Not having her here with us will be sad, but having the knowledge of the gospel and the Plan of Salvation makes the loss easier and brings us much comfort. I am so gratful for that blessing in our lives.

I am grateful for my Grandma and for the impact she has had in my life. She has influenced me more than she knows and I can only hope to be like her someday.

Thank you, Grandma. I miss and love you.
